After installing and configuring all of the listed software components, you must make an appointment to review your environment configuration with one of the instructors. To do this, send a request by email to Nick Bennett.

Note: These reviews are currently being conducted via Zoom.

(It may take a few days to schedule your appointment. Please continue with the rest of the pre-work while waiting to schedule the appointment, and prior to the appointment itself.)

Please bring the following to this appointment:

  • For an in-person meeting, be sure to bring the laptop you will be using for the bootcamp, along with the power adapter. (For a Zoom appointment, please note that you will need to connect to the Zoom meeting using the same computer that you will be using for the bootcamp.)

  • CNM credentials (i.e. the credentials you would use to log into CNM Webmail, myCNM, etc.).

  • GitHub credentials.

  • Your SSH key passphrase (the one you set when completing “SSH key generation and GitHub configuration”).

Ideally, the last 3 items should be stored in the password manager software you installed; if not, that won’t prevent you from completing the environment prep review, but you should make it a habit to keep such credentials in a password manager.

Important: If you have not made your environment prep review appointment by one week prior to the start of class—and particularly if we are unable to reach you to check on your pre-work progress in general, and to make alternative arrangements for environment prep review—you may be dismissed from the bootcamp prior to orientation.
